National Fishery Safety Production Skills Competition Successfully Held, and Marine Fishing Vessel Meteorological Service Platform Launched

From June 18th to 19th, the "2025 National Fishery Safety Production Skills Competition" co - hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the All - China Federation of Trade Unions was held in Shanghai. Upholding the concepts of putting people first, life first, safety first, and prevention first, this competition aims to promote the improvement of grass - roots fishery supervision skills through learning, training, and strengthening capabilities via competition. After two days of intense competition, 12 teams and 12 individuals won the first, second, and third prizes in the marine and inland groups respectively.
This competition thoroughly implements the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on work related to safety production and skilled personnel. It is a key measure to implement the deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on strengthening the construction of a high - skilled talent team in the new era. A total of 51 teams and more than 190 contestants selected from various regions participated, competing fiercely in practical safety supervision and emergency response skills. At the closing ceremony, the Marine Fishing Vessel Meteorological Service Platform, jointly guided by the Fisheries and Fishery Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Emergency Disaster Reduction and Public Service Department of the China Meteorological Administration, was officially launched. This platform will provide important guarantees for the safe production of fishing vessels at sea.
